Hm, this works just fine on my side again.

Initially I had the LDAP-addressbook activated and I guess that one poses
no problem anyhow. But even removing this as a source did not cause any
problem with the attendees.php script. 

I have one testuser in the Kolab addressbook with the mails
"test at example.org" and "testauch at example.org" and both get displayed once I
enter "test" in the attendees.php.

Please provide additional details.
