[imp] Strange Imp problem. Only 5 messages per folder ever displayed.

I think I've set up Imp correctly. However, only 5 messages are displayed
for whatever folder I'm displaying. Strange. If I run ../horde/imp/test.php
I get:

 server="localhost" user="jfilla" mailbox="{localhost:143}INBOX"
INBOX has 3 messages (0 new 22 recent)

Which is mostly correct. I *do* have 22 messages in my INBOX; I don't know
where it got the 3 from. However, when I log to Imp normally, I only see the
5 oldest messages. Even though have over 20 in there. It's the same way for
every folder I select.
My prefs are to display 20 messages/folder, so that isn't the problem. All
my mailboxes are in mbx format, not mbox or any other type.

What gives?
