[sync] Horde syncing to SyncML server?

I've asked this once before, but got no responses :-(

As I understood, Horde implements an SyncML server (still in development),
allowing remote clients to sync data with Horde applications (addressbook,
calendar, tasks, and notes).

However, is it possible for horde applications to sync against external SyncML
server (for example syn4j)?  If not, were there any plans to add that kind of
functionality?  Or I must use Horde as SyncML server?
