+ Summary: Connection errors not being captured in imp address book

+ When you use the address book (turba) from the normal icon, if the directory 
+ service cannot be reach this error is trapped and displayed as a warning on the 
+ screen "failed to connect...."  This is fine.
+ 
+ However when you try to use the address book from the compose screen in imp, 
+ you do no get the connect messeage but a "an uninitiated string offset 0 on 
+ line 45 of imp/templates/contacts/contacts.inc"
+ 
+ I traced it back to the connection problem (I am behind a firewall so cannot 
+ always connect) but that is where no knowledge and skill ends, so cannot help 
+ in debugging.
+ 
+ I did notice that in turba in advaced.php there is an error capturing routine.
+
