I've done some stuff your patch suggests (i.e. stripping out the server
information string before sorting), but have implemented it in a different
way than your patch offers.

Additionally, your assumption that "The subfolders of the INBOX are also
always smaller than other folders" is incorrect.  For example, in a setup
with an INBOX, a folder 'INBOX.Z' and a shared folder 'A' with a namespace
of 'INBOX.', the correct way to view this would be:

INBOX
|
A
|
Z

NOT:

INBOX
|
Z
|
A

Due to the namespace parameter, INBOX.Z is at the same base level as folder
A and should not be interpreted as being a subfolder of INBOX.

Additionally, your patch assumes the delimter is '.' which is not always the
case (i.e. UW-IMAP).
