I can't reproduce it, this works fine here. Of course this only works as
long as the user logging in didn't set a language in his options. This
language would have precedence over the language selected on the login
screen.

But if I login as a user that doesn't have any preferences saved yet and
choose any language on the login screen, this language is kept for the whole
session, until I logout.
