We switched our backend IMAP server from Washington University's open source
IMAP software to Stalker's CommuniGate Pro and today when everyone was asked
to perform the monthly maintenance routines things got a little whacky. The
users who opted to move last month's sent-mail items into a folder named
after September had all of their inbox messages moved to a new folder named
"-sep-2004". There was a warning with some of the users where it said it had
trouble moving "" to "-sep-2004" because it already exists. One thing to
note is that our IMAP location prefix (Within WU's IMAP Server) was "mail/"
because user's IMAP folders outside of their Inbox were located in a folder
named "mail" within their Linux home folder. With the migration to
CommuniGate Pro we moved everyone's IMAP folders to the same level as their
Inbox.
The IMAP location prefix within the IMP server config is set to "" now and
it works when viewing mail when a user logs in and wants to see all of their
IMAP folders.
Any thoughts?
What we did in the meantime was disable the option to perform maintenance
and we logged in as the users and moved the mail back for 50 or so users.
