I found out the following:
Toltec Connector doesn`t assign an owner to contacts created/modified. As
the turba/kolab2 driver searches for the correct owner, contacts aren't
listed.

Commenting the following line (398) in turba/lib/Driver/kolab.php
            case 'owner':
                // $query .= 'FROM "' . $searchval . '" ';
                break;

resolves this issue temporarily. As I'm new to horde/kolab I don't know if
this raises any issues (eg. speed).
