You can't have another IMAP session open and make changes and expect to see
the changed propogate in IMP.  IMP caches the folder tree in every session. 
This is by design.  If IMP had to rebuild the IMAP folder tree on every page
load for every user, it would hammer not only the webserver but the IMAP
server as well.

As far the other issues you have, I can not reproduce them at all. 
Refreshing the folder list (which would pick-up any folder changes) works
fine here.  You may try upgrading to Horde 3.0.5/IMP 4.0.4 when they come up
as there has been some tweaks to the IMAP_Tree code since 3.0.4/4.0.3 was
released.
