The problem is that the make-release script can only handle one "oldversion"
to make a patch against.  The old version for final releases is given as the
previous final release.  We would need to add code to the script to allow
multiple old versions to generate patches against (both previous release and
previous release candidate).  We open a new enhancement ticket for this
feature.
