But, if you were to generalize this, and make it be a search interface
instead:

SELECT <entity> FROM <app> WHERE <criteria>

where entity = person, place, thing, whatever
app = kronolith, imp, whatever
criteria = [category=vacation], [date < today], whatever

Invoke the methods of each app to return results, also provide a portal
block where you can supply these arbitary searches and you have a vacation
tracker, or an anything else tracker :)  Provide the ability to save
searches and you have a Virtual <anything> (akin to IMP's Virtual folders,
or my Turba Virtual contact list's idea) but generalized to accomodate
anything you want.
