based on a tag value for display purposes?  To recreate the appearance of
separate galleries.  What would the default page view look like, then? 
Links to the groups of images based on some user-defined "aggregate" tag?

Does this model enhance the user experience?  It almost seems like it would
be more confusing to someone new to the application.

Just some thoughts to throw out there.
