After the recent changes, the publishing functionality/release management is
broken. I can no longer write articles without releasing them. If setting a
release date in the future (which I don't want actually), the form doesn't
remember this value when I edit the article later. Same for the "release
now" checkbox which is always checked when editing articles. Email
notifications aren't sent at all.
