Opera8 and above have support for XMLHttpRequest, which is what allows the
menu to work.
The Browser.php file should have a extra line for Opera 8 and above
 $this->setFeature('xmlhttpreq');
Also I don't know if it's related too, but Opera 8+ has support for
javascript 1.5
