This has absolutely nothing to do with passwords.  Instead, I simply added a
check in imp/lib/api.php to return the index only if we are authenticated.

IOn your systen, you most likely won't be able to use this line in
gollem/config/backends.php:
'hostspec' => $GLOBALS['registry']->call('mail/server')
You will have to set 'hostspec' to a static value instead.
