Sorry for the delay... been skiing. :-)

I just applied both the patches as you suggested and it hasn't solved it I'm
afraid.

In fact, instead of the previous behaviour, I now just get a completely
blank frame when attempting to browse or search the address book. No error
message; nothing. Unless, should I have restarted something or regenerated a
configuration after applying the patches? I restarted apache, but it didn't
alter anything.
