As to displaying the mailbox page in the menubar - this only happens if you
click on compose message in the menubar.  Looks like the reload code was
added by Jan here:

Unfortunately, this code doesn't seem to work too well (i.e. what if we are
using the IMP API to create a compose link in a completely separate
application - we definitely don't want the calling screen to be reloaded to
a mailbox in this circumstance).  I've reverted this for now.
