I have users who use one calendar and share it with multiple people and
groups. Occassionally, they schedule personal events that they may not
wish to share... such as doctors appointments or golf outings, etc.

I have encouraged them to have different calendars for this purpose or to
not enter personal information, their preference is to be able to mark
events as "Private" or "Personal" and have them hidden from view except to
themselves.
