Thinking about it, have you looked at the "side-by-side" view (you can turn
it on in your calendar preferences)? It doesn't do exactly what you want,
but it's somewhat similar. Depending on your reaction, also note that I've
never really liked the side by side stuff, especially its implementation,
so having a single "Gantt" view with an adjustable granularity might be a
nicer way to implement all of that. Kind of sounds like the independent
free/busy view, also... maybe we can merge this in to request 2127?
