I see now that I was unclear. I'm sorry.

To clarify, I was talking about setting colored backgrounds for HTML
messages, from the Compose window in IMP. After choosing 'Switch to HTML
composition' I'm then setting a background color by clicking on the icon
with the bucket and some colors, tagged 'Background color'.
