Glad you said almost:

aspell-0.60.5_2     Spelling checker with better suggestion logic than
ispell

Does not work in this version either had 0.60 too and it did not work
there. This worked perfectly in the prior version of IMP I really don't
understand what changed.  The only way to get aspell to work is in text
composition mode 8(
