The Kolab driver returns object data as a hash and this includes the
recurrence data. This makes conversion between the Kolab data format and
the Recurrence object easier.

As mentioned the Kronolith Kolab driver is already doing that.

Recurrence in nag is planned and the Kolab driver would use the same kind
of functionality there. In addition I use it for the Kolab specific
free/busy implementation.

In addition you could use it for transforming form data into the
Recurrence object. Though I guess one could also have a specific form
element for this.
