Agreed - good point.  I've updated my Ubuntu bug with this info.

The command in question is in the horde install doc on horde.org.   
Could it also be added to the Kronolith install doc, as the Kronolith  
install doc includes a few other pear checks - it might be a good idea  
to add this one as it is required for things to work, whereas the  
horde install doc keeps the command in the optional section.
