Works fine for me, at least as of this evening.  My auth configuration  
for testing:

$conf['auth']['driver'] = 'imap';
$conf['auth']['params']['hostspec'] = 'localhost';
$conf['auth']['params']['port'] = '143';
$conf['auth']['params']['secure'] = 'none';

(I tested with auto authentication also, and it works fine too)
