It is probably because the Registry is not correctly filled.

If I replace $GLOBALS['registry']->getAuth('bare') and  
$GLOBALS['registry']->getAuthCredential('password') in the turba  
backend configuration file by real value, it works.

The Shared LDAP address book works without problem.
