No. It depends on your imapd.conf configuration. From Cyrus manual:

"unixhierarchysep: 0
Use the UNIX separator character ?/? for delimiting levels of mailbox  
hierarchy. The default is to use the netnews separator character ?.?."

Mine is the default.
