For me the issue is a little bit different after latest updates to  
5.0.3. When I delete an email, it is shown in the list as deleted even  
if Hide Deleted setting is configured for the mailbox. It persist to  
be shown until I logout and then login again. If I click Show Deleted  
old message is still there but this time Hide Deleted successfully  
hides it. Purge works fine.
