I just deleted an event from my calendar by clicking the wrong button.  
  There is a user preference that says "Confirm deletion of events?"  
and I had that option checked (enabled), which it is by default.   
However I was not prompted when deleting the event.

If the preference is to avoid confirmation dialogs, we should have a  
way to undo the delete.  If it is not feasible to implement undo, then  
we should implement the confirmation dialog and respect the preference.
