Horde/IMP imap debug log is impossible on a production server (logfile  
size) but I found something interesting in the syslog at this time:
Dec  8 14:23:13 mailserver dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth  
attempts): rip=127.0.0.1, lip=127.0.0.1, TLS handshaking: SSL_accept()  
failed: error:1408F10B:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number
