When the mail option 'send deleted to trash' has not been chosen it
seems that there not easy way to make the purge.
If the option had been chosen at creation the deleted mails are into
trash and after a check the trash can be purged.
If not, the mail box manager must move deleted mails page by page... I
got a mail box with 17000 messages...
The solution could be :
1- Simple, but changes behavior : if the option is changed then the
operation is applied to history
2- more elaborated : a button near "purge trash" which would be "send
deleted to trash" (which will apear if the option is not chosen)
This respect the ergonomic choice which has been to apply the "move",
"delete" , "copy" only for current page.
When the owner decides to move deleted to trash the operation can be
reversed. He has always three step to confirm final deletion.
Note : to do the job I use the following way :
1- create an account for the concerned mailbox into a new profile
using thunderbird and download (headers only)
2- change the mail box option into Horde to "send deleted to trash"
3- delete the messages into thunderbird, operation which have send
"IMAP deletion orders to mailbox"
4- because of the option set these new deletion command has sent the
message to trash
5- purge trash
...a little long...
