I also quite like the full interface on my mobile (in general I detest  
mobile-specific interfaces), and the only thing it really needs is a  
different implementation of the email list to handle a paged view as  
per the mobile version. The scrollbar is hard to use and the message  
pane is not much use either on a small screen; removing the message  
pane and changing the list would make a great mobile version.

Futher to this: perhaps just a user-preference for what appears in  
each 'view' of the interface.
