If you ask to reply to those email, IMP (6.0.3) consume all PHP  
allowed memory but never succeed to present the email to be edited  
before replying.

Critical factor is an "empty" reference "<>", within the received  
Refences collection.

Original Email causing trouble was posted from Hotmail server.
