We only send messages as OpenPGP-MIME.  As per the RFC, there is  
absolutely nothing wrong with this and is, in fact, explicitly allowed.

Looks like Thunderbird is confusing OpenPGP w/ OpenPGP-MIME when  
dealing with these kind of messages.
