This is planned for Ansel 3, along with a completely new Ajax  
interface. I don't plan on adding/changing any features in the  
existing UI.

Which screen shot are you referring to? Ansel never had a full  
resolution view, other than for editing purposes.

This is possible in the Lightbox view (along with arrow key  
navigation). The traditional image view page only has the arrows and  
arrow key navigation. as stated, I don't plan on adding anything new  
to the existing UI. A patch would not be rejected, however.
