The alternatives 'select how date is shown' (long and short format) do  
not have a single alternative that's completely correct. The official  
date format (SFS 4175) in Finland is dd.mm.yy (short) and dd. month  
yyyy (long). As far as I know, this is the correct date format and in  
use in a number of countries in the world. Should be an easy fix.

The closest current alternatives is to use the partly wrong date formats:
Monday, 20 October 2014 (long)
Mon 20 Oct 2014 (short)
