Exchange/Outlook is supposed to be smart enough to not send those  
types of responses to "external" SMTP addresses. At the very least, I  
believe there is a setting that can turn this off.

Well, sort of. Our TNEF de-compressor has some issues where the binary  
data is read incorrectly, I'm still working on it. It's difficult  
because MS doesn't publish the structure of every TNEF/MAPI property  
and how it's used internally so, for things like messages that MS  
explicitly says are not meant to interop with non-exchange platforms,  
it needs to be reverse engineered...
