[chora] problem installing chora

i followed the instructions in docs/INSTALL
i go to: http://localhost/chora/

and i get this:
Warning: Undefined index: options in /var/www/chora/lib/Chora.php on line 17

i've also notice that in the file /lib/base.php
i have to change the line
@define('HORDE_BASE', dirname(__FILE__) . '/../..');
to
@define('HORDE_BASE', '/var/www/horde');

because if i don't, i won't get the error above, but this one:
Fatal error: Failed opening required
'/var/www/chora/lib/../../lib/Horde.php'
(include_path='.:/var/www/includes:/var/www/pear') in
/var/www/chora/lib/base.php on line 20

can someone give me some direction?
