  Log:
  - move gettext strings into an unused function to make their
  purpose/presence a little clearer, and also remove the constructor
  that doesn't need to be overridden for any other reason.
  
  - I found that the alternating cell backgrounds for the forecast
  clashed with the rest of the portal, so I made it use a bit less table
  layout and a bit more CSS, and just outlined each day instead, with a
  little padding. Thoughts?
