  Log:
  - delay the PeriodicalUpdater so that it waits $interval before
  updating the content, instead of updating it immediately. Another
  option is to just output empty blocks with immediate update if using
  ajax updating, but that'll take logic that isn't there yet. Nice for
  initial page loading quickly, though.
