  Log:
  More consistent loading indication to user.  Fade effects never worked well for
  me - the page always loaded halfway through.  Additionally, when switching
  between dimp and portal/other app, don't show the portal contents while
  switching.
  Finally, start process of loading message list before we show the mailbox
  listing.
