Not sure if this is the right spot for this, maybe I just don't know Horde
well enough. This is not a rant by any means. The Horde Project is great,
and I thank all of those
with the knowledge to make this possible. These are just a few things that I
have found lacking since I first began my install (with IRC support only,
due to lack of documentation) about two weeks ago.
I think it would be nice if Horde had multiple domain support.
A preference system that works on a per-domain status would be nice. Set
x-prefs for domain-A and different prefs for domain-B.
The db structure isn't ideal for trying to make multiple users on multiple
domains and still try to use
vertual users, etc. with the MTA's available (postfix, dovecot, etc.).
A built-in quota system would be very nice as well.
Some type of auto setting that would take max amount of space/messages for
given domain
and divide by number of users in that domain; and it would recalculate with
each user added.
More/better/up-to-date documentation would be the nicest thing to see.
The documentation that exists is under par.
For example, I use Fedora C8. The How-To for Fedora only relates to C4, and
the document
doesn't even mention what version of Horde it was for. Also, part of the
new documentation,
an "Ideal Setup for doing (virtual users, with postfix, dovecot, and using
mysql)" would be *extremely* helpful.
A better way to manage the trash. Instead of having to do a "move to: trash"
from the inbox,
then having to "purge-deleted" in the inbox; then do the same all over
again, but from the Trash; it should be
as simple as trash goes to the trash, and can be easily deleted from their
(in fewer than 8 clicks).
