docs/INSTALL weirdness

So I'm poking through setting up a little bit of everything current
here, and while I'm working through Horde 2.3's docs/INSTALL, I come
across:

-----8<----- cut here -----8<-----
Next, edit the php.ini file and change the line:

magic_quotes_gpc        =       On

To:

magic_quotes_gpc        =       Off


ln -s /usr/local/apache/htdocs/horde /horde
Also, change the following line
from:
-----8<----- cut here -----8<-----

Now, I'm 99% sure that that 'ln' got in there by accident, but before
I fix it, I want to be 100%. :-)
