A couple of weeks ago, I sent a patch to this list allowing to specify a default search field
in the sources definition for Turba; I wanted to know if it is being considered, dropped
or forgotten?

Take a closer look - importConfig() already does that for you. (assuming you
meant horde/config/horde.php).
