There is always a exception to the rule. ;-)

Yes, this is a arguable use of a popup. I had disabled it but I am not
100% sure. It would be nice if IMP could be used without javascript
turned on (lynx).

Note: If you disable it, you don't get a confirmation anymore if you press the cancel
button. The message is directly cancelled. The cancel message is a
good example of a popup, alerting the user of a potential disaster of loosing
the composed email.

When I am surfing I use the "Open link in new window" function on my
3'rd mousebutton a lot. That doesn't work wel with a javascript openwin
function however (Netscape 4.7).

I like the argument of Atif I am reading now, between the difference of webapplication
and a website, between using and browsing.

IMP is just great!

Joris.

I actually use IMP 2.3 with the compose popups turned off, but if I need to get
access to another message while composing, there are two options: right-click
inbox and open it in a new window (3rd mousebutton under X, yes), or open my
compose window manually in a new window on the few occasions when I want it.
But certainly the configurable option is nice. This is just how I use mine. :)

Atif's point comparing sites and applications is certainly a good one.
