Here is my $0.01
Horde account should be different from imp/gollem etc account.

Think of Horde account as master account and all other accounts 
connected to profiles.

Horde may store these user/pass along with other informations about the 
profile.

Example: I log into horde using
atif:H0rDe
as user:pass

Then I can create a mail profile with servername/username/pass
and more servername/username/pass

This can also give multiple mail account feature

and

the profile user/pass can also be encrypted using master user/pass etc 
and stuff....
