[dev] Delete & Purge

We have installed IMP for a few thousand user who are often computer
novices.

One of the biggest problem I have seen with these users is the way the
deletion of messages works.

Users are usually accustomed that to delete an object they have simply
to select it and use the "Delete" command (both by keyboard or menu).

So I have seen many people puzzled by the way IMAP uses to delete files.
Even when they realize that they have to "Purge" deleted messages (this
concept is not present in other common programs), I have noticed that in
more than 95% of the cases users tend to immediatly follow the "Delete"
command with the "Purge" command.

In my experience, even expert users almost always immediately follow
Delete command with Purge.

So, I'd like to propose you to add a new Preference to IMP, something
named like "Immediatly Purge deleted messages".

When this option is active, every IMAP Delete command will be followed
by a Purge command.
Obviously the "Hide Deleted" and "Purge Deleted" commands will no more
appear.
If we want to make more evident that the option is active, we could name
it "Delete & Purge", instead of simply "Delete".

What do you think of it?

Bye,
