I'm not suggesting the readonly be removed. I was suiggesting that on the
signup form, read only feilds aren't shown.
As I stated ealier, I'm working on a way for extra user attributes to be stored,
and I am trying to to have some fields that only administrators can change on a
user. I have added a file horde/config/useR_attributes.php. I was going to
use the 'readonly' feature to signifyh that they can only be edited by the
admin, hence thinging that on the default signup script, it might be a good
idea if they were not shown. Whilsts I am happy to make this alteration on my
sytem alone, I thought that this kind of functionality might benefit the horde
comunity. Another method of approach was to add a 'user_editable' field to
the fields array in the user_attributes.php file.
The plan to alter the 'accounts' package to allow the user to edit thier own
information, and allow adminstrators to view/alter this information via the
user admin section. The kind of information that one might want to store are
things like
- age
- sex
- nationalitly
- mothers maidon name
- ...
Does all that make sense?
