This seems an opportune time to point out the -C option of cvs update
- it will rename any locally-modified files to .#file.version and
check out a new file. If you want to be sure the file is a clean
copy, cvs update -PdC file. I have no local modifications to
repository files (I work hard to avoid this), so I always update
using -PdC. If you forgot to commit some code, it will tell you what
it's renamed and keeps the modified file, so if you did forget
something, it's still not lost. Just a thought :)
