After 7 days, finally fixed this.  All CVS was up to date, all config files
where up to date, but I had not gone through and re-saved my IMP preferences.
I just went in and re-saved some IMP preferences, in particular the "display
images" prefs and the "attachment display" prefs, and now it works.

Not sure what exactly fixed it, but all I did was re-save the preferences,
and now it works...  Now to try to regain my sanity...
