[dev] [TURBA] Support for notification?

I'm writing a driver for IMSP backends for the Turba module.  Since in my 
installation, it is likely that the users will have different 
usernames/passwords for the IMSP server than the IMAP server, I'm in the 
process of making changes to allow for this.  My issue at the moment is 
that I would like to notify the user if the login did not work to the IMSP 
server.  I've tried using the Notification system, but the messages do not 
appear until the user goes back to the mailbox screens.  Should/could 
support be added to turba to display these status messages on the search 
results / browse screens?  If not, where would you think the most 
appropriate place to put these messages would be?
